In December 2011, the inner diameter of YH1921 brake disc supplied to Great Wall Motors, was found out of tolerance, which reflected that Winhere quality management was backward and unregulated. On December 31st, Mr. Jun Dong, chairman of Winhere, raised the concept of “radical change” in 2011 year-end management conference. Change, according to Mr. Dong, is “three criterion and one improvement”, namely realizing the importance of criteria establishment, establishing simple but effective criteria, conscientiously executing the criteria and keeping up improvement. Winhere’s view of quality has drastically changed since then.
4 years after the “change” concept was born, several units of YH1921 brake disc were chosen for onsite measurement in the assembly line and the measurement outcomes of their inner diameter pose a lean and tall figure as indicated in the histogram on the right-hand side. The CPK value, which is constantly above 2, undoubtedly resembles the high conformity in product quality, which has become the inspiration for the design of Winhere tower.
Winhere tower, made of 6,012 units of YH1921 brake disc, is 16.6 meters high. It tends to present the esthetic of the histogram from the perspective of industrial art. It is the symbol of change for the whole company, the interpretation of advanced Winhere concepts and the beacon that sheds light on the quality management in Winhere.
